Daddy's Girl

Okay, I know that it shouldn't matter, but I don't like Sydney dressed like this. She looks like a boy! Her dad bought this shirt for her and he thinks it is the cutest thing ever. I have to politely disagree! Even though Sydney has a barrette in her hair, she just doesn't look girly enough for me! I am going to try to get over it though, as she is leaving the house like this. (What is with our temperature today in the 60s, when it was over a 100 last week???????)

Kids are Weird

Sydney has developed a strange new habit. Anytime she gets something on her hands, she immediately has to start rubbing it in her hair. The other night at David and Loretta's graduation party she was playing in the sprinkler puddle water and that went into her hair. Today is was peach yogurt that turned into styling gel. There have been many other times and many other substances rubbed into her hair. Here she is with her beautifully styled yogurt hair. I don't know about this kid.....

I should have posted this yesterday, but with the almost 6 hours of graduation ceremonies and party afterwards, I just didn't have time.

David and Loretta graduated from UNLV yesterday. (Unfortunately at different times, so we had to sit through two ceremonies, but it was worth it!)

I am so proud of the new graduates, Loretta in History and David in Computer Science!

Overall, Sydney was very good at the ceremonies. She slept, played, ran around a bit and ate tons of snacks! Here's a cute picture of her during Loretta's ceremony giving "Day-Day" hugs and kisses:

Happy Birthday Susan!

Today is my sister-in-law, Susan's birthday. And apparently she doesn't like to get her picture taken very often. Here is the only picture I could find of her by herself. It's from three years ago, but isn't she cute??

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the Mother's Out There!

I wanted to write a Mother's Day post on Sunday, but I'm a slacker.... It was going to be a beautiful tribute to my mom and how she taught me to be a good mother, and how I love being a mom. But, now it's Thursday and late and I'm tired. So here goes....

I love my mom. She rocks. I love being a mom to Syd. She rocks. The End

Oh yeah, and I love Jimmy. He rocks. He "helped" Sydney buy me flowers and a gift card to Barnes and Noble for Mother's Day. She looked so cute coming around the corner holding the bouquet of flowers! I wish I had my camera ready!

Summer is Just Around the Corner.....

We are quite enjoying our condo's pool so far this spring. We have lived in our complex almost two years and Jimmy hasn't used the pool until now! We have already been three times and now whenever we walk by the "poo" (as Sydney says) she tries to get through the gate. We've also already been swimming at Grandma D.'s, so this is shaping up to be a great pool season!


Sydney rides our (adult) neighbors' whale toy. Not quite sure why they have this.....
