Christmas

I know it has been awhile, but things have been busy with Christmas! Here are some cute pictures of Christmas Eve. We had Jimmy's parents and sister and my grandma and two cousins, Lauron and Angel, over for dinner. I should have taken more pictures, but I was too busy making dinner.

Here is Sydney with her Grandma and Grandpa reading her books from Aunt Darlene.

Sydney and Aunt Darlene reading. Sydney loved the books!
Sydney with the Christmas bear from Grandma Angie.

On to Christmas morning......

Here is Sydney Christmas morning. She wasn't too thrilled with posing for a picture.

Here is Sydney with her stocking and present from Santa. By the way, in case anyone is ever thinking of buying this Elmo laptop, DON'T. Not only is it super annoying, which I could deal with, I suppose, but it is just crappy. It is top heavy, so it topples over all the time, and the changeable cards that you slip into the screen area don't work very well. You change the cards and it will ask you questions about what is on them, but you have to wait like an hour before it will read a new card. Unfortunately, I read the bad reviews from parents, AFTER I discovered all these problems. Oh well. Sydney likes it. And she doesn't know what the questions are saying anyway.....

This picture was taken after Christmas, but Ally is reading Sydney the book that Tyler picked out for Syd all by himself. Apparently he was looking for a bear book but he couldn't find one. He picked this one out because it had an elephant that Sydney would like. He was right. She does like it. She also loves the toy semi-truck and 4-wheeler he picked out for her!

That's all the pictures I took of Christmas. I need to raid other people's cameras and see if they have some more pictures of Christmas. I just didn't take enough because I was too caught up in everything!

Christmas Girls

Grandma Linda bought these cute dresses for these cute girls. They look so adorable in their Christmas finery!

Santa Train

We took a fun (and quick!) little trip on the Nevada Southern Railroad for the Santa Train. Sydney loved looking at the window and it was another chance to get a picture of Sydney and Santa. At least this time, she was mostly facing the camera.

Ward Christmas Party

This was the best picture I got of Sydney with Santa. She was totally distracted by him. I even tried to take her picture again with Aubrey, but nope, I got the same shot!

Sydney at the Parade

We went to the Christmas parade tonight. Even though it was cold, Sydney had a great time. She loved all the floats and especially loved waving at everyone! And even though Jimmy was mocking the parade before it started, he even had a great time!

Sydney stayed warm in her hat, long-sleeve shirt, short-sleeve shirt, jacket (although she isn't wearing it in this picture), blanket and the cutest little white mittens!
Although this picture doesn't do it justice, here is a beautifully decorated house. We were sitting across from it during the parade. My mom calls it "The Disneyland House" because it is just so pretty that it reminds her of our favorite place. It was fun because they had all kinds of Christmas music playing and Sydney loved dancing to it.

Here are the cutest parade cheer-ers! Maddie, Julie and Ally cheered in the parade with their cool light-up pom-poms!

Sydney Red Riding Hood

I have been waiting and waiting for Sydney to be able to fit into this outfit! I got it at her baby shower and thought it was the cutest thing I have ever seen! Finally it fits!

Sydney's Party

Sydney's party turned out rather well despite the fact that it almost got canceled! Poor Sydney threw up a couple times in the middle of the night late Friday night/early Saturday morning. We waited to see how she was doing on Saturday morning and decided she seemed okay. We went ahead with the plans and got all the food and took it to the park. It was a little windy at first and cold in the shade, but we moved the picnic tables into the sun and it warmed up quite nicely. It turned out to be a beautiful day.

Some uninvited guests came to the party! These big-horned sheep come down from the mountains and invade Hemingway Park all the time.
Sydney wasn't too sure about this cake at the party. Normally, she loves chocolate and would have dug right in, but she didn't have much of an appetite since she wasn't feeling 100%.

She sure loved all her presents.
Family friend, Naomi, brought a pinata for the kids. Sydney was not too sure about hitting Dora with a stick! She did like her spinning top toy that came out of it though!

How Can My Baby Already be One????

I can't believe Sydney turned one yesterday. It seems like we were just holding her for the first time....(wistful sigh....)

We will officially be celebrating her birthday tomorrow with a party at the park, but she did get a cake last night. We went to Thanksgiving dinner at Marie Callenders with Jimmy's family and Aunt Darlene brought Sydney a cake. I wish I had the video camera, but here are some pictures:

Independence

I know with age comes the need to exhibit independence, but why does it have to be so messy?? Here is Sydney, a few days shy of one year old. Lately she has been quite insistent on trying to feed herself. She did empty the bowl, but I just don't know how much yogurt she actually got into her mouth.

Ninja Sydney

Doesn't it look like Sydney is going to Karate chop someone in this picture?

Birthday Invite Photo Shoot

Jimmy and I were trying to take a cute picture of Sydney to put on her birthday invitation and here's what we got.

Even though some of them came out okay, we chose not to use any of them. We decided to use one of the crazy headband pictures from my last post. Now I guess I should put the invitations together since I need to send them out. For a guy who wasn't too excited about Sydney's party at the beginning, he sure is getting into it now. He keeps listing off all of his friends that he is going to invite!

Here are some cute pictures of Sydney. She wore this headband for all of about 2 minutes!
